Calhoun CodeRED is a free service that provides local emergency alerts in Calhoun County. When there is a local emergency, the system will send you a phone call, text message, or email. It’s free – all you have to do is sign up.
Even if you already receive weather alerts on your phone, it's still essential to sign up for Calhoun CodeRED. Our system provides the most local and most urgent alerts, exclusively for Calhoun County residents.
Examples of alerts you may receive from Calhoun CodeRED:

Why is Calhoun CodeRED important to me?
CodeRED helps keep you informed and prepared for any emergencies that may occur in our area. Officials will send messages to alert you of emergency details, instructions or precautions that you need in order to make well-informed decisions and remain safe. This system is precise enough to geo-target residents within an exact area of impact, so that only those people who are affected by an emergency situation are notified.
When will Calhoun CodeRED alerts be sent to me?
Calhoun CodeRED helps local officials keep you informed and prepared for any emergencies that may occur in our area. The system is precise enough to geo-target residents within an exact area of impact, so that only those people who are affected by an emergency situation are notified. During sign up, you also have the option to receive local non-emergency info from the county as well.
How will I know when Calhoun CodeRED is calling me?

After receiving a message, we suggest that you program this number into your cell phone as a “new contact” and use “Calhoun CodeRED” as the contact name. If you need to replay the message received, you can call the number back and listen to the message again in its entirety.
What do I do if I receive a Calhoun CodeRED alert?
If you receive a Calhoun CodeRED phone call, listen carefully to the entire message. You can repeat the message by pressing any key. Do not call 911 for further information unless directed to do so or you need immediate aid from the police, sherriff, fire department, or EMS. If you receive a Calhoun CodeRED email or text message, please be sure to read the entire message carefully and follow all instructions.
Is my personal information protected by Calhoun CodeRED?
Calhoun CodeRED is a service of ONSOLVE which takes security and privacy concerns very seriously. They will not sell, trade, lease or loan any citizen-supplied data to third parties. You many also indicate during sign-up if you wish your information to remain totally private.
Can I change what types of messages I receive after signing up?
By default, the CodeRED system will sign you up for emergency messages only. If you later decide you want to receive non-emergency messages as well, such as government announcements or upcoming community events, you can do so by logging into your account or calling the library.
